This book was exactly what I needed. I have plenty of programming experience but TCL is new to me. This chapters in this book walked through a series of examples that gave me all the information I needed to get the job done. Downloading the code examples from the web site helped to make it even easier.I don't consider this book as a reference guide but instead a great primer on the TCL language. That's exactly what I was looking for and that's what I got.

This book is poorly organized. In the discussion of Tcl, important terms are not defined or explained. Different data types and structures like strings, lists and arrays are given entire chapters, but it is not explained why they are different and when they should be used. The truly difficult topics like substitutions and grouping are not clearly explained. This would be horrible for an absolute beginner. The reviewer who liked the discussion of Tk may have a point. The section on Tk seems to make more sense and may be of some use.

This is a great book for anybody who is interested in learning TCL. I was able to learn the language pretty fast.

First off, I have programming experience, and am a technical professional. However, this is NOT a reference for a true beginner. The author's writing style is geared more toward someone with some familiarity rather than an absolute beginner. There are numerous mistakes in the book (on page 93 in the fourth paragraph it states if [Random $values] returns 2, the expression evaluates to King; since Tcl indices are 0-based, the correct answer from the example list {Ace King Queen Jack...} is Queen) that need to be cleaned up for a second printing. Then in the same chapter for exercise 5.1 the author uses code that has not been introduced ('info' and 'exists' in the line 'if {[info exists cards] && [lsearch ..."); this is supposed to check that a duplicate card is not created, but the code is different in the two places it is used, and then the logic is wrong! If the first two cards in this blackjack game are identical, the 'for {set i 1}' loop in Block 2 only populates the list with 1 card instead of 2.I have not finished the book as of yet, but it does not meet my expectations of a book that is supposed to be "for the absolute beginner". The publication of the book was late to begin with; shipment from Amazon was delayed MANY weeks from what was projected when I ordered the book in July 2007. The editor/publisher/author should have spent more time checking for errors, and providing better examples. The author states that code could be written in another form, but does not provide that alternate example, which would have been very illustrative.If you truly are a beginner, I'd recommend looking elsewhere for a learning reference.

I would be happy to give this book five stars in that I have always liked its lively and excited presentations of events from the past. Yet truth is that it is biased towards Russian and English history, and sometimes it is more akin to story telling than to history. Nevertheless, these are fun stories, and for those that have read part of them elsewhere, these are entertaining remembrances. Likewise the math: if you have not read about these concepts elsewhere, the book might be difficult, but if you have, then you will appreciate the diversity.

Very sketchy overview, but it is OK if it is only that what you are looking for.

Highly recommended for those interested in just the story of Fluid Mechanics, the book contains very good illustrations which complements it.

About the Author

Joseph Campbell was interested in mythology since his childhood in New York, when he read books about American Indians, frequently visited the American Museum of Natural History, and was fascinated by the museum's collection of totem poles. He earned his B.A. and M.A. degrees at Columbia in 1925 and 1927 and went on to study medieval French and Sanskrit at the universities of Paris and Munich. After a period in California, where he encountered John Steinbeck and the biologist Ed Ricketts, he taught at the Canterbury School, then, in 1934, joined the literature department at Sarah Lawrence College, a post he retained for many years. During the 1940s and '50s, he helped Swami Nikhilananda to translate the Upanishads and The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna. The many books by Professor Campbell include The Hero with a Thousand Faces, Myths to Live By, The Flight of the Wild Gander, and The Mythic Image. He edited The Portable Arabian Nights, The Portable Jung, and other works. He died in 1987.

Every artist must read this important work. Joseph Campbell provides the roadmap for success in whatever your medium. I have bought it twice, once 20 years ago, and once again recently, because the old one fell apart from active use. This is one of the most important additions to my library.

In my humble opinion this is his masterpiece in this series. He's a wise poet. What more can one ask for. I know I can't. This book is multileveled. It's wonderful pleasurable reading, deeply thought provoking, and it is for lack of a better description " a mythological artifact in of itself." This book is a portal to understanding the meaning of "culture." Joseph Campbell is the gatekeeper of this portal, not with a sword but with open arms.You want to understand Carl Jung read Joseph Campbell. You want to understand Joseph Campbell read Carl Jung. You want to understand yourself a little better read them both.

I am in the middle of reading this book â€” I absolutely adore it. It is incredibly fascinating, and I love Campbellâ€™s linguistic flourish. But man, this Kindle edition is horrific. So many typos, roughly one per page. Iâ€™ve been powering through because they havenâ€™t affected my comprehension until now. I just got to a page where a sentence begins with â€œThe Sumeriansâ€ and there is nothing following that! It just jumps to the next paragraph! The Sumerians WHAT? What about the Sumerians? Iâ€™d quite like to know. Absolutely atrocious. Iâ€™ve literally stopped taking the time to report content errors because there are so many.

Well, it took some years, but I finally finished reading Campbell's, "Masks of God" series and I must say I agree with another reviewer as Campbell has indeed saved the best for last.What set this one ("Vol. IV: Creative Mythology") apart from the other three to me, is that Campbell presents ideas which can be directly applied to your everyday life and looks towards the future of mythology (which we are all a part of!) rather than strictly recounting a history of the world's mythological past. There is plenty of mythological history in, "Creative Mythology," but it is all presented as background for looking towards the future...As far as Campbell's own written work is concerned, to date I've read his other three, "Masks of God" books and of course his, "Hero with a Thousand Faces." I've actually read, "Hero..." a few times over and it remains my favorite of his books so far, but, "Creative Mythology" is now a close second.The entire, "Masks of God" series is well worth reading, but unlike, "Hero...," they are all big, dense books that take quite sometime to get through. If you're only going to pick one in the series, my recomendation would be to make it, "Vol. IV: Creative Mythology." It's exciting and inpiring and a real tour-de-force.Unfortunately, I suspect that many people start with the high ambition of reading the entire series and then never finish it. Hence, they miss out on reading this great book which is a shame. Don't let that be you!

Very helpful, used it & passed the PNCB boards (I swear some questions were very similar to some on the actual exam). I would definitely recommend it as a supplement to other studying resources. I got this item towards the end of my studying, and was a great tool to test my knowledge, but would not use it as the sole resource for studying.

This book was extremely helpful to the Family Nurse Practitioner in pediatrics without any previous experience. I highly recommend studying this and looking up and reviewing the terms in the answers!

I received this book in the mail in a regular manila envelope. I was very disappointed with the amount of material. At less than 90 pages, this book averages 21 test questions per chapter, with 15 chapters total. I certainly expected more than that for almost $50.00 with S/H. I will say that the majority of the questions were well worded, with appropriate rationale provided for the correct and incorrect answers. There simply weren't enough questions.

Great study questions! There were 1 or 2 inconsistencies but overall great. There was one question that the answer key rational had nothing to dow with the question. But I passed the exam so it definitely helped!

Be aware that this book contains study questions only. It includes very good rationale for each question. I'm surprised by the poor reviews - I have enjoyed using this as I prepared for my certification exam. The small size of this book makes it perfect to throw in your purse and take with you anywhere you go - always a plus for me! If you are concerned about the cost for something that you will "only use once," as another reviewer pointed out, you could split the cost with a classmate and take turns with it. I used this in conjunction with the review book that goes with this book, the Mosby online review course, and the AFPNP Core Review book by Victoria Neiderhauser. I definitely think this is worth buying.

This study question book highlights many milestones and disease processes. The multiple choice questions follow the highlights with a letter answer.

This book has great questions and explains the correct answers. Only thing I wish it did was explain why the other options are incorrect. Other than that it is a great study guide. Also wish it was longer

I had my doubts with this book. I bought it as a goofy Christmas gift for my husband who is a huge Bigfoot fan. While it is a rather quick read (think of it as a slightly longer, much more mature children's book) he was thoroughly entertained and found it to be quite funny. My dad read it and got a good laugh out of it as well. If you want something stupid and random this is it.

Quirky, gross-silly, funny book, delivered nicely in the right amount of time.

Seamless, inspired, hilarious work. The personal account of the monosyllabic mystery of the woods. As funny as the text is, the illustrations resonate and add to it. An idea so simple YOU could off thought of it, but you never could have pulled it off with this much charm and vision, so bite the bullet and buy the book. Makes a great present, I got it for my birthday, I laughed so hard, I bought it for my good friend.

This book had some funny parts but all in all not what I was hoping for.

Just received this Wonderword Puzzle book and am really disappointed. I love these puzzles but this onlly has 51 puzzles in it. I have a Treasury 21 puzzle book and it has 130 puzzles in it. I don't think I will order any more of these.

These are my favorite puzzles. I used to work them in the newspaper but having a puzzle book is so much better.

I like these word puzzles. Fun to do and it's something different.

He also found a forgotten trail blazed in 1775 by Daniel Boone, which crosses the path of the modern interstate in Kentucky. Both of these finds were made possible by Dave's ability to read topographical mapsâ€“a skill he developed as a youngster roaming the hills and valleys of Englandâ€™s South Downs, looking for prehistoric encampments and lost Roman roads. Best drive to Florida map book we have ever used. Have been using Dave Hunters guides for about 15 years. We use them on every Michigan to Florida trip, about every other year. I have a disabled brother that travels with the family every trip. Knowing where accessible rest stops are is a huge help with traveling with family in a wheelchair. And if you want to take a scenic trip off the beaten path, Dave gives you every idea you could need at the tip of your fingers! Young or old, kids to teenagers, this is a must have for your next Along I-75 vacation.This couple takes there time driving 75 so we don't have to. Hats off to your book Mr. and Mrs. Hunter! My family buy a new copy with each update. Invaluable information, thank you!

This book us invaluable for someone driving I-75 to Florida! It lists hotels, restaurants, gas stations, etc. at every highway exit from Detroit to the Florida border. A must for snowbirds!

This is my third time purchasing the I-75 book. It is a must if you travel to Florida and back from the northern states.

The book is absolutely the most comprehensive map/guide we have ever used. We travel each year to Florida but this book details each exit with gas stations, restaurants and exits not to take. Super worth the money.

Great to have the updated issue. Our last one was the 15th edition. this one is the 19th.

This is my first book on Forex trading, so I have nothing to compare it to. So this review is for the book contents and what I like or hated about it.The book covers the basics as implied by its tittle. Don't expect in-depth analysis or fancy detailed trading strategies. The book is properly paced and not boring -at least if you're interested on learning.The language is clear enough for beginners, but the author makes a big mistake that is consistent throughout the book: tries to explain topics using jargon that is at best latter on explained on the book. So you have to go to the internet and figure out the words or concept we fails to explain earlier as it should be. I must say that while this is a big pitfall as a writer, it's good for you as reader as it forces you to spend several hours (given you have the time) on the internet reading the overwhelming amount of information found there, which helps you to diversify what you are reading on the book.I gave it 3 stars mostly for the lack of figures/graphics that would help to understand the concepts he tries to come across. The quantity of figures is extremely short and makes your imagination soar figuring out how things look like. The author failed to understand than since most interesting concepts about forex trading are closely related with the charts, these are of paramount importance to explain clearly and succinctly. It's a shame the book is so short of graphics coz otherwise would be a great book.At last, it's unbelievable that the author, the editor and however proofread the book (if somebody ever did that) failed to notice the basic arithmetics errors on the examples used to explain EVP.The bottom line: the book is worth it if you're a beginner and feel overwhelm by the information found on the internet.

Excellent book.Just the goods and well written not full of technical stuff. Highly recommend it .

Good read for an absolute beginner in foreign exchange trading. Peters covers the basics, but strategy isn't really covered in this book very thoroughly.

Great beginner course with some clear insight to what the FOREX market is all about and how to prepare yourself to trade. Covering the basics without fluff or going on about a subject once the point is made. A good read for any and all beginners
