I absolutely love it when I come across a story that surprises me. Alien romance is not typically a genre that I read, but because I love DD Prince's other work, I had to give this a try. I was very pleasantly surprised. I didn't think I'd be into it, and I totally was! Jetta, along with several other women, is tricked into participating in what basically amounts to a breeding program on another planet.This is a fairly quick read, which I finished in a few hours, but in that time the author manages to create this whole other world with a unique culture, language, and environment. Everything is described and explained thoroughly, there's really no room for confusion (which I feel is a problem with a lot of the sci-fi genre.) The aliens are hot and alpha, as the title states. Which is great, because one of my fears was that it was going to get weird. Like, I don't know, the aliens would be covered in blue scales or have seven penises or something. Daxx is so alpha, but he's also incredibly sweet and warm. I love that combination. It's lethal. There's also a good bit of humor as well. Now, I'm looking forward to the other stories on this planet. I want to know what happened to the other women who were tricked into participating! I know DD won't let me down. Five. Freakin'. Stars.Â
Sometimes you just want to read a light and funny book. A book that get your mind of all the stress of everyday (like Christmas shopping!). So I decided to read the story about Daxx & Jetta because the blurb promised me a fun and light romance story and that’s just what I wanted and what I got!I really, really enjoyed this story and I can’t wait to read more about these alien, hot, alpha men.Jetta is a human woman who didn’t have an easy childhood but now she wants to make a new start by going back to school an she’s lucky because there’s a big chance that she will get a scholarship to an Ivy League school but sadly for her, the government lied to her. Because without her knowledge she entered a secret project! So now she’s on her way to a new planet to marry an alien man. Something she didn’t volunteered for!! But the government doesn’t give her a choice, so now she has to marry and have sex with an alien man within 3 days or else she will die (also a little detail that the government didn’t tell her or the other women until just the moment before they meet the alien men).Jetta doesn’t want to marry but she also doesn’t want to die either. So she will have to have sex with one of the men on this alien planet. But she must confess that the men there are very hot and good-looking. But which one will she choose or rather which one will ‘win’ her because the rules on this planet are very different from the rules on Earth. Soon there are four men fighting for her! But at the end she only has eyes for one, the hot, alpha man Daxx. Luckily for her, he wins her ‘hand’. They get along very well and the sex is spectacular but then Jetta discovers that not only did her own government lied to her but Daxx as well. Jetta is heartbroken by this because how could Daxx not tell her that by sleeping together they would become man and wife by the rules of his world.Jetta is very hurt and angry by this, so now Daxx has to prove to Jetta that he is worthy of her trust and love. But this new planet has dangers of his own. Can Daxx keep Jetta save from the different dangers of his planet?Like I said before, this story is a light story filled with humor, strange alien moments, cute alien pets and a feisty heroine and an alien man who knows what he wants and he isn’t afraid to show it. I really liked the chemistry between Jetta and Daxx and I’m really, really looking forward to the stories from the other women that travelled with Jetta to his new and wonderful planet.
I really liked the book as well as the plot as a whole but there were a few issues. Firstly, certain events were repeated in detail, whether by thought process or not, and I felt this was entirely unnecessary. Secondly why would someone say “2 days later†but then give you a full description of what happened in the day/s prior to it been “2 days later†– I don’t see the point. So yes, a couple of small issues but other than that a good, fun read.I did love the devotion and love Daxx showed Jetta right from the start and how he would go out of his way to try and make her happy. The level of heat was close to perfect for me and I loved that there was also a bit of action and humor added in the mix.Oh, and I must admit -- I was craving pizza by the end of this book.
What can I say except I want Daxx as my husband! I had never read an alien book before, but I am so in love with this authors writing that I decided to jump in. I'm so glad that I did, because this is a hot, sexy, out of this world read! When an alien planet has most of its women die, what do you do? You steal women from earth and make them your wives, of course. This sexy read tells the story of Daxx and Jetta and sets it up for more stories to follow. I loved this book and can't wait for more Hot Alien Husbands, space pizza, sweet wine and let's not forget the "other" Coke and lime.
I like Jetta and Daxx. This was more a romance story than a true alien abduction as the aliens all looked humanoid. Because the story was heavier to the side of the love story I thought opportunities were missed concerning world building and in depth intrigue as politics and rebel factions were mentioned but not discussed or brought fully into light. Even though I felt there could have been a little more I did very much enjoy this story and hope the author revisits this world she has touched upon.
Rating: 4.5 stars!This deliciously hot alpha alien romance was brought to us by the amazing D.D. Prince under the alias SCARLETT STARKLEIGH! The label alien romance must seem weird, right? In reality, it was hot as hell! I could not get enough of the romantic Daxx and Jetta, who refused to submit.. Th e romance and drama were on point and I really liked how the different alien concepts were explained to us in details. It was the perfect fantasy.I am so glad to say that I took a chance on this book since it turned out to be amazing! This author can write in any genre that she wants, thats for sure! I now absolutely cannot wait for what she brings us next since her alpha males heroes are simply to die for!Divya
