This is the most comprehensive, informative, and helpful book about painting landscapes I've ever read. While the publisher targets it towards beginning acrylic artists, I think artists of many levels would find this book a very valuable resource in improving your skills and paintings. The author's step-by-step illustrations and tips are easy to follow. Although I'm not a total 'beginner' artist, I've always struggled with landscapes (in fact, I hated doing landscapes so much, I stopped even attempting them), but trying to expand my artistic 'comfort zone', I wanted to try again. I'm now looking forward to painting some landscapes following along with Tom Shropshire's illustrations and tips. (Plus, the book is large format, high quality paper and printing, and the price is a bargain!)
Enjoyed the book gave me some great ideas on how to paint the trees. Great pictures and instructions for this beginner.
Order the books in Spanish Didn't open the bag. It was a gift to my Mother in law in Mexico. She can't read English. Enga su. She doesn't want me to know she can't read it.
I have only been painting for about six months and have a growing collection of of “how-to†books. I thought this one would be helpful but for me, it was too advanced. There are helpful tips in it but the paintings are way too advanced for a beginner in my opinion. I will keep it hoping I will grow into it later on.
