Book arrived with binding coming off and falling apart.

I've ridden for decades--trails, low-level jumping & dressage, obstacles--but never started a horse from scratch. Now having two 22mo old geldings that I took on as orphan foals at 2wks of age, I've been doing tons of in-hand work on basics, obstacles, little trails, etc. This pair of books ("101..." plus the illustrated hardback text that is paired with it)is perfect for me/us right now. Because I've never done much longeing, and nothing with side-reins, surcingles, cavessons, long lines, etc, the detailed instruction on minutiae of how to hold or fasten things, and alternative types of tack, was particularly useful. The graded exercises started with 10-12 things we had gotten quite proficient at in-hand (eg, head down, whoa & stand, turn on forehand, sidepass), but quickly moved on to things I've never done, and my "boys" certainly haven't. I really appreciate Hill's focus on safety & on potential problems & their prevention & solutions--the kinds of things you get from a good trainer with lots of experience, so you can potentially avoid problems.

Cherry Hill's book take the horseman by the hand and allows he/she to understand what new things to try to change ones horse's behavior. Then, it is just up to the horseman's imagination and energy to implement and modify the techniques for their situation. I'd recommend all of Cherry Hill's products. Her methods compliment Clinton Anderson's techniques to allow the horseman to balance their approach.

It was a quick read, but I really enjoyed it ! I thought the silly mix up between old and modern times was hilarious. The little cartoon drawings were a great addition and I really love the silly Viking information at the end of the book together with the cool trading cards !I bet boys and girls ages 6 and up would rally have fun reading this book ! Once you get used to the author's narrative style it is a very enjoyable read. The style is very much like listening to a story orally, rather than the way most authors narrate their stories, you will have to read it yourself to see what I mean. I think this collection of books would be best enjoyed as an audio book for this reason.I still find the brother the most interesting, although I do think he has adopted American idioms and ways of thinking terribly fast with only one year in America.The ending went really fast and all ends were tied up super fast. I was at 97% on my kindle and couldn't imagine how everything could wrap up so quickly, that is the only thing I did not like, just the feeling that it all happened too quickly at the end.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is the 3rd book in the series, The Sisters of Rosefield Series. Even if you haven't read the first 2 books in the series, don't worry you won't be lost while reading this book. I loved everything about this book!! Even though this is the final book in the series, I wish this was a series that could keep going, it's that good!! Reading the conflicting emotions 2 of the sisters are feeling regarding their futures, Emma wrote it so well, you fell like you're part of their lives right there in their homes with them. This was my first time reading a book by Emma Easter and jumping into book 3 of The Sisters of Rosefield Series wasn't easy. It is best if you read the books in order which I didn't do.The story involves the lives of the Gardner sisters and a half brother they didn't know they had. This book picks up their stories from the previous books and there is a lot of jumping back and forth from one siblings' story to what's happening in another siblings life.What I did appreciate was their faith and trust in God in facing their situations.This is a clean book and again best if you read the books in order.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I am a new reader to Emma Easter and the Christian genre - This is book #3 of the series and while it is not necessary to read the first two books of this series, I would highly recommend it so that you have the back history of the sisters and their brother. This is a fast paced Christian book that shares many stories within one story. The Author does a good job of making sure that the stories flow well with each other and you aren't feeling lost. The characters are easy to relate to and inspirational with their faith and determination. While Love Means Everything is the third book in the series, it can be read first. I am certain your enjoyment would be enhanced if all three were read in order, but I enjoyed this fast paced, Christian book. The book has many interesting characters. Their stories are interwoven. These characters all had great faith - and placed their trust in doing God's will rather than their own will. There was a fun sequence when good trumped evil. if you are looking for an excellent inspirational book, try this one. This is a clean Christian story about the complexities of love and life and how God cares about every part of your life and will lead you if you trust him to. It's funny that the ones that had the most materially had a harder time trusting God completely but the ones that had the least trusted him with everything even their very lives. I liked the small stories and how they were woven together to make this story work. At first I was a little lot since I felt it jumped from one story to another and then back again . It made my head spin a bit and had to reread parts because I got confused. Not enjoying the format. Doesn't seem much like a text, so much as like a critique of different examples. Maybe my review will change on a closer look, but as I'm being asked for a review, that's my current assessment. And, to be honest, it's not enticing me to read it because of the format. If I had seen it in a bookstore before buying, it would have gone right back on the shelf.

its just the same as his other books on "how to write" - nothing to do with legislation

Loved the format of examples of what or how to write a law or opinion contrasted with an opposing passage of a better why of writing it. The many examples including editing of entire statutes demonstrates the value of clear, distinct and clear writing. This book will benefit legal composition and also the general public who must make heads of tails of laws. Highly recommended for non-legal writers.

Good, basic information about betta fish. I hope people who read it will come away with the knowledge that, although it is somewhat possible to keep bettas in small tanks, it is highly unadvisable. He, and many other responsible betta experts, tell you that the recommended size of a tank for a betta is 5 gallons, and never less than 2.5.Though he does mention it, I wish he had spent more time writing about the Nitrogen Cycle, and the importance of "cycling" an appropriately-sized tank while setting-up and maintaining your aquarium. It keeps your tank healthy by building up beneficial bacteria that help, along with regular water changes, manage the levels of ammonia, nitrite and nitrate in the water that affect the health of your fish. I urge people to try to look this information up. You can't "cycle" a small bowl, and that is one of the many reasons why small containers aren't recommended for bettas.Also, while larger-sized water changes are needed if you in unwisely keep a betta in a small container, it is unadvisable to do very large/complete water changes and heaving cleaning of appropriately sized tanks. I'm not sure why he tells people to do this, unless he is referring only to the maintenance of small containers. You end up depleting the beneficial organisms that build-up in the substrate and decorations, as well as in the water, that help keep your tank healthy.Overall, I think people will find this book to be helpful and I do recommend it.

I'm going to get a Betta and this book was a really good overview. It was humorous in spots and I learned pretty much what I needed to know. I had a Betta years ago when the fish was supposed to be kept in a vase with a peace plant. I regret ever doing that. This book has been very useful in how to properly care for a Betta. I had originally bought another book which I did not find helpful. This one is clear with easy to understand guidance. One thing I found missing and in other sources I read was that aquarium salt is recommended and why but not addressed is should it be used with invertebrates and live plants in the tank. The downside to the Kindle addition is no color which would have enhanced this lovely fish. It would have been helpful to have a resource list, but overall it is a good book and I recommend it.

After my son's betta died I thought I needed to know how to help him do better with his next one. This book answered my questions and even answered some that I didn't know to ask. Am I now an expert? No but I am more ready to try again. Not a hard book to understand like a lot I looked at. It's written so I can look up the answers to any new questions that will come up. If you're looking to keep a betta this is a great book to start with. Thanks

Very well written guide for beginners wanting to keep Betta Fish. I have been in the hobby for 30 years but still found several helpful tips . I wish I had read this before I got my first Betta and I could have avoided a few mistakes .

Lots of good information here, and a terrific friendly voice, but the text is arranged in chunks that are repeated and jumbled around (this is the kindle edition) and the result is the book is not linear and is just a little hard to follow. This would be a very helpful book if the editing for kindle had been a bit more careful.

This book does have some useful basic information,but it also has several factual flaws. Such as saying that bettas came from small puddles, or that they can be kept in bowls. If you want a great betta book i recommend the betta bible.

Very user friendly! Something that lacks in other books. I love the nonchalance! It makes it feel like a friend is teaching you without the annoying preachy my way or the highway you get from other books! The information is clear and i loved reading it!

Some things I knew, some I didn’t. Fast easy read, funny yet serious all in one. I highly recommend for anyone wanting to own a Betta fish.
